Encrusted iron barshot with cylindrical ends, ex-1715 Fleet, ex-Real Eight (Parke-Bernet). 9.2 lb total. Roughly 13" long, 3" diameter at ends. Complete pair of thick, iron pucks joined by a long, square-shanked bar, an effective type of ammunition designed to whirl around and foul rigging, with encrustation, very rough and rusty but stable and solid. From the 1715 Fleet (Cabin Wreck site), pedigreed to the Real Eight Co. consignment to the Parke-Bernet Galleries auction of February 1967 (lot 63), with original catalog and photo-certificate.
