Eastern European flintlock trade pistol, 1700s-1800s. 980 grams, 18" long, 11" barrel, 1/2" muzzle. Typical pistol that was traded in the Mediterranean and carried overseas to colonial ports by corsairs and pirates, with decorated barrel, complete lock, ornate walnut stock with relief-carved decorations, ornate cast brass mounts, very good original condition and iron with age-toned patina, tight lock that needs adjustment, wooden ramrod tightly in place, barrel secured by wire wrap decoration at fore end. Pedigreed to our Auction #19, with original lot-tag #1706, and pedigreed to the Stuart Auerbach collection (see lot 4).
