Earthenware olive jar with coral encrustation, perfectly intact. 2888 grams; approx. 10" x 8". We have sold many of these olive jars over the years (typically spherical with prominent, rounded lip), but rarely do they come INTACT from the Fleet wrecks, which generally sank close to shore, battering the jars to shards (found by the thousands), this specimen also noteworthy for an abundance of white, polypy coral on one side, the whole jar an even eggshell color all over.
