Earthenware mercury flask, intact, unidentified 1500s wreck. 742 grams, 7-1/2" tall, 4-1/2" in diameter at shoulders. Medium-sized vessel with narrow, flat bottom and wide-shouldered top, bits of coral all over (you can even hear shells jingling around inside), gray coloring with a rust-colored stripe, intact (rare thus), used for carrying and pouring mercury or quicksilver. From an unidentified 1500s wreck off the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico.
