ECUADOR, Quito, gold 8 escudos, 1845 MV, no flag poles, very rare, PCGS VF30. Seppa/Anderson-94; KM-31; Fr-7. Broad flan with full rims, deep red toning in legends, weakly struck just left of center (both sides) but overall problem-free with honest wear and a desirable example of this classic Latin American rarity in a one-year design showing bare-head bust of Bolívar facing left with incuse BOLIVAR on truncation on obverse and unique coat-of-arms on reverse left over from 1844 that comes either with flagpoles sticking out the bottom or without (this being the latter, which is considered rarer).
