ECUADOR, Quito, 8 reales, MDQ countermark (1831) on a Bogotá, Colombia (Cundinamarca), 8 reales, 1820 (no overdate) J•F, LIBERTAD AMERICANA, very rare, PCGS G6, c/m VF details. KM-9; host: Restrepo-142.3. Very prominent full countermark on the native woman's neck, the host coin with rather bold legends and date (showing no evidence of 20/19, which Restrepo calls very rare) all set off by contrasting toning, full rims, this countermark much more often seen with later REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA / CUNDINAMARCA hosts than for this LIBERTAD AMERICANA / NUEVA GRANADA host.
