Obverse with capped Liberty bust facing right in wreath; reverse with sun rising over hills with long rays under ribbon that says EL GOBIE . ALA . JUSTICIA below legend * ECSAM . DADO POR J. CADAGAN CUZCO 1839 *; corded edge. Very lustrous and well struck example of this rare medal featuring a bust similar to those used on the United States Capped Bust Liberty coinage series, rich blue toning with spots of gold and light red, faint hairlines in reverse fields.
