Costa Rica, 1/2 real, "lion" countermark (Type VI, 1849-57) on a Guatemala bust 1/2 real, Ferdinand VII, 1815M, unique host, NGC VF details / holed, c/s AU standard. KM-unl. Choice full countermark, deeply impressed (cupping the host a bit), on a lightly worn but still-lustrous host with a few marks and the obligatory hole at top but possibly unique as a colonial host with this countermark, unlisted in any reference and the first we have ever heard of, an important coin for the specialist. NGC #4740760-005.
