Clump of at least four coins (two cob 8R and two English sixpences) in heavy matrix (as found). 217 grams, approximately 3-3/4" x 2" x 2". An impressively massive hunk of orange-brown concretion with coins embedded at all angles, the complete cross-side of a Lima 8R showing on one side and part of the pillars side of another with bold date 1701 on top, the sixpences at bottom and top with only parts of the kings' busts (William III and Charles II) visible, all the coins a bit silvery from spot cleaning but the whole piece very solid and dense (possibly containing other coins or objects inside). Recovered from: Association, sunk in 1707 off the Isles of Scilly, southwest of England
