Civil War-era U.S. naval brass-hilt boarding cutlass (model 1860), manufacturer Ames (Massachusetts), dated 1862. 883 grams, 32" long. Clean steel blade with no nicks or pitting (just some faint surface rust), stamped with AMES MFG CO. / CHICOPEE / MASS on the ricasso, clean brass hilt around tight leather grip (intact but slightly chipped), well preserved overall. With certificate.
