Chinese blue-on-white porcelain bowl, ex-Diana (1817). 265 grams. 5½" diameter, 2" tall. Described in the Christie's catalog as a "blue and white conical bowl, the exterior painted with ribboned emblems and a hatched band," intact and rather plain, from a group-lot of 26 pieces in the auction and one of nearly 24,000 intact pieces recovered from this India-bound ship out of China, sunk in rough weather. From the Diana (1817), pedigreed to the Christie's (Amsterdam) "Diana Cargo" auction of March 1995, with original lot-sticker 412/26 on bottom.
