Center portion of a silver plate, ex-Concepción (1641). 178 grams. 8" x 6-1/2". Despite most of its rim being corroded away, this is a surprisingly solid plate with bright silvery toning, pinpoint in center (purpose unknown), extremely rare as a certified artifact from this wreck as most were retained by the government of the Dominican Republic. From the Concepción (1641), with original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his Concepción contract with the Dominican Republic, and accompanied by the July 1996 issue of National Geographic signed by Captain Tracy Bowden on his article "Gleaning Treasure from the Silver Bank."
