COSTA RICA, 50 centavos, arms/lion double countermark (Type VII, 1889) on a Medellín, Colombia, 5 décimos, 1882, no CB in countermark, very rare, NGC AU details / cleaned, c/s AU strong. KM-unl (cf 135.2). Very light pink-and-green toning over muted luster, the full and deep countermark quite rare as lacking the usual CB initials below lion (only three or four known), this likely the finest example of that countermark (and on a scarce host) and consequently of great importance to Costa Rica specialists.
