COLOMBIA, Popayán, gold bust 1 escudo, Charles IV, 1795 JF, unique from this wreck. Restrepo-85.8; KM-56.2; Cal-1153. 3.38 grams. Lustrous AU with choice full rims, light yellow color, trace of toning at bottom rim on reverse. We are told this was the only gold coin found on this wreck, salvaged by Harold Holden starting in the 1960s, an unidentified vessel (often called "Archie's Seabreeze Wreck" after a restaurant in the same area) that was a casualty of a famous hurricane in 1810. With original photo-certificate from Capt. Bonnie Schubert on behalf of the salvor (Harold Holden). Recovered from: "1810 wreck," sunk in 1810 off the east coast of Florida
