COLOMBIA, Medellín, 5 centavos, 1874, Barré bust, denomination 5, NGC AU details / obv spot removed, finest known in NGC census, ex-Eldorado. Restrepo-264.1; KM-153.4. Spectacular example for the type, with light rainbow toning over luster and boldly struck details, minor natural flaw at top of head and a few light marks but otherwise fully deserving of its former AU55 grade from PCGS (as it was in Eldorado, and as it still appears in the PCGS census), finest in the NGC census in any case. Pedigreed to the Gregorio Toulemonde Collection (stated on label) and to the Eldorado Collection (Stack's Bowers auction of June 2018, lot 44355) and the Freeman Craig auction of May 1987, lot 561 (plated in catalog).
