COLOMBIA, Cartagena, gold cob 2 escudos, Philip IV, assayer E below mintmark C to left, dots inside and outside tressure, NGC MS 62, Restrepo Plate. ERA-C3; Restrepo-M52-31 (this coin); S-C7; Cal-Type 378; KM-4.6; Fr-2a1. 6.77 grams. Huge (non-round) flan with choice full shield and cross-and-tressure, the former with bold full •C•E inside king's ordinal IIII to left and full •II• inside king's name PHIL- to right, much legend on cross side but with only the first 1 of the date visible, all with lovely reddish toning (some dark sediment near edge), this variety only known for 1630 and 1631 so far.
