COLOMBIA, Cartagena, copper ¼ real, Ferdinand VII, no date (ca. 1815), rosette at bottom on obverse, unique, ex-Gran Colombia Collection. Restrepo-102.1 var; Cal-unl; KM-C1 var. 0.30 gram. Dark and corroded surfaces, also a bit uneven in strike, but with clear lion on one side and NR-¼ on other side, the latter with rosette at bottom instead of top, first and only specimen known of this variety within a very rare type that Restrepo believed could have been struck at Santa Marta or Maracaibo instead of Cartagena (and KM says Santa Marta). Pedigreed to the Gran Colombia Collection (Sedwick Auction 30, lot 934).
