COLOMBIA, Bogotá, gold cob 2 escudos, Philip IV, assayer not visible (A below mintmark NR to left, mid-1630s), NGC MS 64 (Mesuno Hoard). ANUN-4; Restrepo-M50.13; S-B20; Cal-Type 386; KM-4.1; Fr-2. 6.64 grams. Superb grade with very sharp details in the full and well-centered shield and cross, truncated peripheries (as made), red toning here and there, probably finest known at NGC census for examples without visible assayer but label attributes to "c. 1636 / DOTS IN REV RINGS" in error. Pedigreed to the "Mesuno Hoard" (ca. 1636) (stated on label).
