COLOMBIA, Bogotá, gold cob 2 escudos, 1711, no assayer (Arce), Charles II posthumous, NGC MS 61 (1715 Fleet Shipwreck Label), ARCE plate. ARCE-126 (this coin); Restrepo-M66.40; S-B24; Cal-1929 (under Ph. V); KM-14.2; Fr-4a. 6.77 grams. Superb full cross-and-tressure with clear date, nearly full shield with CAR- of king's name partially visible, hint of luster, sediment in crevices, a lovely well-centered example even if not top grade. From the 1715 Fleet, pedigreed to Sedwick Auction 18, with original lot-tag 52 (also to Sedwick Auction 8, lot 41), Plate Coin 126(2) on page 107 of Daniel Sedwick's book Arce's Doubloons (2025) (stated on label).
