COLOMBIA, Bogotá, gold cob 2 escudos, 1655, assayer not visible (R) to left, mintmark NR to right, NGC AU 58 (Shipwreck Blue Label). Restrepo-M50.23; S-B21; KM-4.1; Cal-1812; Fr-2. 6.70 grams. Full cross-and-tressure with distinctive lines from dimple-rings to fleurs that began in 1654, some central weakness but clear tail of final digit of date (not noted by NGC, which attributes to 1642-51 in error), bold but off-center shield with weak but certain NR to right (an odd arrangement confirmed only for the dates 1654-55), choice color and muted luster. Recovered from: Maravillas, sunk in 1656 off Grand Bahama Island
