COLOMBIA, Bogotá, gold bust 1 escudo, Charles III, 1777 JJ, PCGS XF45, finest and only example in PCGS census, ex-Eldorado. Restrepo-52.14; Cal-1458; KM-48.1; Fr-41. Bold full rims, pretty purple toning over muted luster, scarce date in high grade, this example being the finest at PCGS with none at NGC. Pedigreed to the Eldorado Collection (Stack's Bowers auction of August 2018, lot 40022), stated on label, and to the Hans M.F. Schulman auction of June 1972 (lot 97).
