COLOMBIA, Bogotá, cob ½ real, Charles II posthumous, date not visible (ca. 1712-13) no assayer (Arce), quadrants of cross transposed, unique. Restrepo-unl; S-B11; KM-B8; Cal-325. 0.68 gram. Very small flan, deeply toned and thin from corrosion but with bold (albeit off-center) details including right half of Philip monogram (see lot 947 for explanation) surrounded by parts of king's name (CAROLVS) and nearly full cross with seated lions (in transposed quadrants) identical in style to those on 2 escudos of 1712-13 (first we have seen silver).
