CHILE, Santiago, bust 8 reales, Charles III, 1781 DA, very rare, NGC VF details / tooled (Colección Val y Mexía Label), ex-Amat. Cal-1215; KM-31. Deeply toned with even wear, as-made flan-crack and lamination at date plus small rim-flaw on reverse but no noticeable tooling save some trivial marks, from among just 105,000 minted (mostly melted), with distinguished pedigree, technically tied with two others for second finest in the NGC census behind a single VF 35. Pedigreed to the Viceroy Amat Collection (Ponterio auction of March 1999, lot 74) and to the Val y Mexía Collection.
