CHILE, Copiapó, 1 peso, (1859), inverted shield, proper star, denomination as .1.P, NGC MS 62 (Colección Val y Mexía Label), "top pop." KM-2.2. Very bold stamps (the outline of the shield easily discernible on the reverse) with dark outlines, choice toning over muted luster without notable marks, currently tied with one other for finest in the NGC census, popular uniface issue struck during the occupation of Copiapó in 1859 by Chilean revolutionary Pedro León Gallo Goyenechea. Pedigreed to the Val y Mexía Collection.
