Bronze mission bell, French, late 1700s to early 1800s, signed by founder Robert Dubois. 5.3 lbs (2410 grams) total. Bell 8" tall x 5½" in diameter. Made at the LePuy-en-Velay foundry in Aupuy, France, with original head-stock, painted green with hand-forged iron counterweights and clapper, raised markings of DUBOIS ROBERT AUPUY with ring-turned decorations, patinated as found, from a French estate. Pedigreed to Sedwick Auction 29, with original lot-tag 1441 and photo-certificate.
