Brass military belt buckle, ca. 1900 (patent dated 1881), found and used in Panama under the Colombia Republic. 71 grams, 2-3/4" x 2-3/8". From 1821 to 1903, Panama was a part of the Republic of Colombia, and this buckle dates to that period, with the Colombian arms and EJERCITO NACIONAL / COLUMNA DE PANAMA on the front (otherwise plain), perfectly intact but in need of polishing.
