Brass hand guard for a cage-hilt sword, ex-Guadalupe-Tolosa (1724). 81 grams. 5" x 4" x 4". Worn by time and the sea, the lines still recognizable as a hand guard for a hilt sword, minus the blade and flat front piece, darkly patinated all over. From the Guadalupe-Tolosa (1724), with original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his contract with the Dominican Republic and copy of the article "Graveyard of the Quicksilver Galleons" by Mendel Peterson from the December 1979 issue of National Geographic.
