Bogota, Colombia, gold cob 2 escudos, 1725, assayer S to right, mintmark (F) to left, Louis I, very rare, NGC AU 58, finest and only example in NGC census. Restrepo-M90.2; S-B25a; KM-A25; Cal-56. 6.76 grams. Smallish flan with full shield showing faint but certain dot-S-dot to right (no part of king's name visible), also bold full cross with toning in crevices, full 5 and bottom of penultimate digit 2 of date (attributable to Louis I only, also a die-match with Sedwick Auction 29 lot 49, which shows a clear king's ordinal I), first we have offered with date visible.
