Bogota, Colombia, cob 2 escudos cut down to 1E size, Ferdinand VI, assayer not visible (style of assayer S, 1746-8). Restrepo-M94.2; S-B27a; KM-17.2. 3.34 grams. At first this appears to be a particularly thick 1 escudo, but comparison of the shield and cross design shows that they are identical in size to those on a 2 escudos of the same period, so most likely this piece was clipped down to 1E size in its time. XF+ details with choice full and deep cross, some dark encrustation in crevices.
