Bogota, Colombia, cob 2 escudos, Charles II, assayer not visible, NGC MS 62, ex-1715 Fleet, ex-Art McKee. Restrepo-M66; KM-14.1; Cal-Type 151. 6.65 grams. Crude and uneven strike with some flat spots but nearly full shield and cross nevertheless (some luster and light encrustation in crevices), the shield doubled in such a way that makes it seem like Naples-Sicily is on the left (per Restrepo's ARC1), especially since it was slabbed upside-down by NGC (who also called it 1701-15 in error), whereas in fact it is actually a proper shield dating to sometime prior to the mid-1690s. NGC #5967815-003 (1715 Fleet Shipwreck Label). From the 1715 Fleet (Corrigans site), with Karen McKee certificate that says "Salvaged by my father 'Arthur McKee Jr.' off Vero Beach in the early 60s."
