Bogota, Colombia, cob 2 escudos, (165)4(R), from the "Jupiter wreck" (1659). S-B21; KM-4.1; CT-176. 6.7 grams. Broad flan with full crown and shield, full and choice cross with extra contrast from reddish toning and sediment on fields, full 4 of date, clear mintmark NR, some legend, including bold (HISPANIAR)V R(EX) (lacking the M) on cross side, aligned obverse/reverse axes (a useful trait you don't often see), scarce provenance, near AU. From the "Jupiter wreck" (San Miguel el Arcangel), sunk in 1659 off the east coast of Florida, with original photo-certificate from the salvagers.
