Blue-and-white Delftware bowl with flying birds motif, ex-pirate ship Golden Fleece (1686). 235 grams. 5¼" in diameter at top, 3" deep. Matte-finished bisque bowl with blue-painted birds flying toward a pond, about a quarter of the bowl now missing and coral/shell encrustation inside and out. The pirate Bannister had captured an Irish ship and taken it north of Samaná, where he held it for two weeks and removed everything from it, including Delftware china like this piece. From the pirate ship Golden Fleece (1686), with original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his contract with the Dominican Republic.
