Ballast stone with coral encrustation, ex-Concepción (1641). 1110 grams total. Roughly 6" x 4½" x 2½". Mostly oval-shaped with concretion jutting out from one side, a porous and rather lightweight rock with light-colored speckles of sedimentation all over, the dark honeycombed stone peeking out. From the Concepción (1641), with original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his contract with the Dominican Republic, and accompanied by the July 1996 issue of National Geographic signed by Captain Tracy Bowden on his article "Gleaning Treasure from the Silver Bank."
