BRAZIL, 600 reis, Afonso VI, crowned-600 countermark (1663) on the cross side of a Spanish cob 8 reales of Philip IV, rare. LMB-12; KM-unl (19 for type). 27.00 grams. Complete and very deeply impressed XF+ countermark near center of cross, the Good host mostly flat with only central detail visible including one lion and enough of the shield to see a Portuguese inescutcheon at top (hence mainland Spain, a host unlisted in KM), very thick flan with sharply cut sides (as made), lightly toned.
