BRAZIL, 300 reis, Afonso VI, crowned-300 countermark (1663) on the cross side of a Mexico City, Mexico, cob 4 reales, Philip IV, assayer not visible, ex-Joanna (1682). LMB-11; KM-18.1. 8.73 grams. Very deeply impressed full countermark (XF details) on left arm of good cross, that side concave, the shield side heavily corroded, lightly toned all over, a rare type to be found on a wreck and particularly rare from the Joanna. From the Joanna (1682), with original certificate from the salvor/conservator.
