BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer not visible (1630s). KM-19a; Cal-Type 327. 26.51 grams. Interesting piece as strongly struck on a crude planchet leaving some parts of nice sharp details including a fair amount of legend text (for instance, clear RVM = "RUM" above the shield), other areas struck a bit flat along with some doubling, small planchet-clip on edge as made, very little corrosion. With original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his contract with the Dominican Republic. Recovered from: Concepción, sunk in 1641 off Hispaniola
