BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer not visible (1630s). KM-19a; Cal-Type 327. 25.56 grams. Thick cob bearing a typical crude strike leaving parts of the shield and cross weak or doubled, bold denomination 8 along with partial king's name, first digit of date showing though rest obscured, silvery surfaces. With original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his contract with the Dominican Republic. Recovered from: Concepción, sunk in 1641 off Hispaniola
