BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer TR (large, late 1630s). S-P27; KM-19a; Cal-Type 327. 26.32 grams. Small flan with choice full cross, nearly full shield (slightly off-center) with bold mintmark-assayer to left, some minor peripheral doubling and minor traces of pitting, attractively toned. With original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his Concepción contract with the Dominican Republic. Recovered from: Concepción, sunk in 1641 off Hispaniola
