BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer TR (large, late 1630s), ex-Concepción (1641), mounted cross-side out in 14K gold-wire pendant with fixed bail. 27.45 grams total. A rather lopsided setting such that the cross side does not quite start at 12 o'clock, the coin corroded but some detail visible, silvery all over, set in an interesting gold wire-wrapped bezel with a split-wire bail on top. From the Concepción (1641), with original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his contract with the Dominican Republic.
