BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer P (late 1620s), quadrants of cross transposed, "hunched over" lions. S-P23; KM-19a; Cal-Type 327. 25.15 grams. Corroded yet with bold mintmark and assayer, some partial legend detail, nice cross with some doubling, darkly toned fields. With original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his contract with the Dominican Republic. Recovered from: Concepción, sunk in 1641 off Hispaniola
