BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, Philip III, assayer M (pre-dated type), quadrants of cross transposed, Grade 2, ex-Atocha (1622), mounted cross-side out in unique (custom) 18K gold pendant incorporated with 14K gold chain. 93.68 grams total. Bold statement piece with a wide-wrapped gold bezel incorporating two full-shaped connectors attached to a four-strand beaded chain with clasp at top (over 1.5 oz troy in total pure gold weight, currently worth well over $6000 just in melt value), the coin richly toned and choice for its assigned Grade with nice full cross (though mounted upside down) and complete yet doubled shield with clear mintmark P over doubled M assayer, a shipwreck retailer's dream piece! From the Atocha (1622), with original Fisher certificate 85A-215103 (tag missing).
