BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, Philip III, assayer M (pre-dated type), quadrants of cross transposed, Grade 2, ex-Atocha (1622), mounted cross-side out in unique (custom) 18K gold bezel incorporated with 14K gold chain. 93.68 grams total. Bold statement piece with a wide wrapped gold bezel around a richly toned and choice coin with nice full cross (though mounted upside down) showing off transposed quadrants, a complete yet doubled shield showing on the other side with clear mintmark P over doubled M assayer, the coin and bezel attached to a gold four-strand beaded chain with clasp at top. From the Atocha (1622), with original Fisher certificate 85A-215103 (tag missing).
