BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, 1653 E, •PH• at top, •pomegranate• above cross. S-P37a; KM-21; Cal-1503. 27.05 grams. Spectacularly Royal-like example with choice bold details on both sides, including most of legends, all three mintmarks and assayers and dates (full 1653 below cross), corrosion-free and attractively toned, with minor old scrape on left pillar but otherwise as nice as they come without being a full-fledged Royal (galano). With original tag from the salvors. Recovered from: Capitana, sunk in 1654 off Chanduy, Ecuador
