BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, 1651 E, with crowned-•F• (two dots) countermark on shield. S-P36; KM-19b; Cal-1491. 26.64 grams. Choice broad flan with part of edge slightly bent, complete countermark in center of full shield (slightly doubled) with bold assayer E to left, full crown at top, the cross also full but weakly struck, clear 1651 date in legend, minimal corrosion, lightly toned. With original MAREX tag 91-8R-46, pedigreed to the Ponterio auction of April 2000, with original lot-tag 1138. Recovered from: Maravillas, sunk in 1656 off Grand Bahama Island
