BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, (1651-52) E, with crowned-script-Z countermark (rare) on shield, ex-Maravillas, ex-Hudson, ex-Ponte, Mastalir and KM Plate. S-P36; KM-19b; Cal-Type 327. 28.14 grams. Choice and corrosion-free (in fact overweight) with contrasting toning and VF+ details, with 100% full countermark at bottom of full shield with crown above, bold king's ordinal IIII in legend, possible faint date 1651 outside of full cross, small edge-split. From the Maravillas (1656), pedigreed to the Louis Hudson Collection (Sedwick Auction 6, lot 341) and the Luis R.
