BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, 1650 (modern 5) O, with pentagonal crowned-1652 countermark (very rare) on cross, ex-Capitana, ex-von Schuckmann, ex-Ponte, Mastalir Plate. S-P35; KM-19b; Cal-1488. 22.64 grams. Round and Royal-like but with light corrosion all over, nearly full legends outside of full but weak shield and cross, clear date with dots between digits at 11 to 1 o'clock, full king's name and ordinal, clear •P•O• and •8-O•, but most important feature is the nearly full countermark on top-left quadrant of cross, Fine with toning in crevices, edge-split. From the Capitana (1654), pedigreed to the Ponterio "Capitana" auction of April 1999 (lot 207), the Siegfried von Schuckmann Collection (Renaissance auction of December 2001, lot 3047), and the Luis R.
