BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, 1650 (Spanish 5) O, with crowned-G countermark on cross (rare), ex-Capitana, ex-Ponte, Mastalir Plate. S-P35; KM-19b; Cal-1488. 27.04 grams. Exceptional corrosion-free VF with good full shield and cross on broad flan with nearly full legends including full date and king's ordinal IIII, the full countermark on bottom half of cross described by Mastalir as unique in terms of subtype and placement, both assayers full, great contrasting toning. From the Capitana (1654), pedigreed to the Ponterio "Capitana" auction of April 1999 (lot 213) and the Luis R.
