BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, (1650) O, with crowned-script-a countermark (very rare) on cross, ex-Capitana, ex-Hudson, ex-Ponte, Mastalir Plate. S-P35; KM-19b; Cal-1488. 25.65 grams. Broad flan with flat peripheries but minimal surface corrosion, bold full countermark just below center of full cross (old style), clear assayer to right of weaker shield (new style), lightly toned all over. From the Capitana (1654), pedigreed to the Louis Hudson Collection (Sedwick Auction 6, lot 319) and the Luis R.
