BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, (1650) O, with crowned-L and crowned-T countermarks on cross (very rare with two countermarks), ex-Capitana, ex-Hudson, ex-Ponte, Mastalir Plate. S-P35; KM-19b; Cal-1488. 26.12 grams. Broad flan (extends past outer border on reverse) with only faint surface pitting but some light scratches, full shield (slightly doubled) with clear assayer to right above bold king's ordinal IIII, off-center full cross-and-tressure with bold (75%) countermark to left and more lightly impressed second countermark to right of center, VF overall, very lightly toned (old-style cross and shield). From the Capitana (1654), pedigreed to the Louis Hudson Collection (Sedwick Auction 6, lot 325) and the Luis R.
