BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, (1650) O, with crown-alone and crowned-C countermarks on shield (very rare with two countermarks), ex-Capitana, ex-Ponte, Mastalir Plate. S-P35; KM-19b; Cal-1488. 23.15 grams. Old-style cross and shield with high denomination to right of shield indicative of 1650, the second assayer below it covered by a full countermark, the other countermark (bold) placed to left of center, with clear primary assayer to left, full but weaker cross-and-tressure, overall AVF with light surface corrosion and faint toning. From the Capitana (1654), pedigreed to the Ponterio "Capitana" auction of April 1999 (lot 75) and the Luis R.
